The Staples Trust

Trustees initiate most of the proposals to be considered and tend not to encourage unsolicited approaches. They make grants under the following headings:

  • Gender issues – domestic violence, women’s rights and gender studies
  • Overseas development - projects which empower women, support the rights of indigenous people, improve shelter and housing, generate income in disadvantaged communities, and encourage sustainable agriculture
  • Environment – projects in the UK which focus on renewable energy and rural conservation, and projects in Central & Eastern Europe, which focus on training community and business leaders, and sharing skills and information.
  • The Frankopan fund – small grants to exceptionally talented students from Croatia to further their studies. Please follow this link for more information about the Frankopan Fund, including its guidelines and priorities.
