About the Trust
The Tedworth Charitable Trust was founded by James Sainsbury in 1989. From the beginning, James has been proactive in helping organisations at a critically early stage of their development and has supported projects in areas such as child development, parenting, the welfare of families, arts and the environment.

What we fund
The Tedworth Charitable Trust supports projects in the following areas: parenting, family welfare and child development; and arts and the environment. The Trust also supports a small number of projects which fall outside of these areas. Occasionally, the Trust also responds to international emergency appeals.

We don’t fund
Unsolicited applications are unlikely to be successful, even if they fall within an area in which the Trustees are interested. Grants are not normally made to individuals.
Grantmaking process
Applications for funding are generally invited by the Trustees or initiated at their request.
